Overview

During Baik Group’s hiring process, the company conducts a personality test that determines whether a person is hireable or not.

<aside> 💡 The Problem Baik Group’s current personality app (The Next Round app) is not showing the result after the test is finished. Also, the app doesn’t give a clear purpose at a first glance. There’s room for improvement to enhance the experience.

The Solution Redesign the app by adding certain features that are needed by the user.

How the project started

Baik Group is a growing startup that was hiring a lot of people. In the final round of the recruitment, we want to know the personality of the participants by using our own personality test app called The Next Round app. This test tells whether a person is hireable or not.

The current app is still an MVP and there is so much room for improvement.

Finding out what our users are like

I wanted to know what the users’ problems are, and what their needs are. I have all these questions that need to be answered in order to come up with solutions. What are our users like? What kind of personality test that they’ve taken before? Why do they take a personality test? What do they like? What don’t they like?

To answer those questions, I distributed a survey.

77 Responses

77.9% of respondents have taken a personality test before, 22.1% haven’t.

16personalities

78.3% of respondents who have taken a test before, use 16personalities.com

MBTI

MBTI is the popular type of test that the respondents have taken (86.7%)

Learn something they don’t know about themself

85% of the reasons why respondents’ take a personality test is because they want to learn something about themselves. Followed by work purposes, learning ways to understand people, wanting to belong, etc.

I feel like I get to know myself more

80% of respondents feel like they got to know themselves a lot better after taking a personality test. Followed by knowing how to understand others, feeling satisfied, etc.

The SWOT analysis

78.3% of respondents need SWOT analysis the most, 65% need interpretation, and others need reliability, validity, fun facts.

After the survey, I get a brief knowledge of what our users are like. However, I still need more insights and feedback regarding the current app. Thus, I conducted usability testing and in-depth interview with 10 users.

The Findings

Based on the usability testing and interview findings, I sketched out the user journey, including the feeling that users are having while taking the test.

I also compiled the in-depth interview result and group them by using an affinity diagram to help me define the problem.

Based on the affinity diagram, here are the problems that I defined.
